Get yourself down to the Danube this bank holiday Monday & you’ll witness an celebration of epic proportions.
August 20th of course marks the anniversary of Hungary’s foundation by St Stephen & boy do they know how to put on one hell of a party.
If you stand between Margit & The Chain bridges you’ll see a breathtaking display of glorious fireworks.
The festivities kick off at 9pm.
All rise for the beautiful Hungarian national anthem when the show is over.
If you’re at a lose end before the spectacle starts then why not check out one of Budapest’s cracking museums? Entry is free to most museums on the 20th. You’ll queue up forever but it will be worth the wait.
