Kandalló Kézműves Pub Review

A busy pub. Photo: Facebook.

Back in the exhilarating Summer of 2015, I every spare moment in Kandallo Kert. The temperature was in the 40’s & the beer to help the days fly by was Távoli Galaxis.

I pretty much lived in the place. For my efforts I was awarded with a black VIP card that I still hold to this day.

Sadly, The Kert is no more. It was originally replaced with a shite bar & now it’s simply a car park.

The good news however is their sister bar, Kandalló Kézműves Pub is still standing.

I felt it was about time that Pulse write about it.

The truth is I don’t get down here enough. As my years on this slowly tick towards the big forty, I’ve found myself not wanting to leave the house on weekends.

Perhaps I am drink fatigued who knows. When I fully come out of retirement it’s good to know that Kandallo will be waiting.

This bar is simply brilliant. A craft brew heads wet dream.

There are fourteen beers on tap & although the list is sometimes hit & miss, you will always be sure to find something you can get stuck into.

There ain’t no Távoli Galaxis on tap these days but the last time I visited, I plucked for a Singularity by Gravity Brewing.

What set’s Kandallo out from other craft beer joints is the sensational food.

My favourite? Well, I tend to go for the goat cheese burger. The bun is bigger than my head & the goat melts perfectly in my mouth. Or something.

For you meat heads out there, they have all sorts of burgers on offer.

It truly is pretty special. Gourmet fare at a craft beer pub for great prices is some going.

The staff are cool lads & lassies.

There was a barman in here who I spent all of 2015 chatting away with. When I returned, he had gone off to create his own brewery. The Kandallo crew certainly know their stuff.

If you aren’t sure what to order, then just ask. You won’t be disappointed.

Now there are a few drawbacks with the place.

It can get pretty crowded, pretty quickly.

If you are looking for a quiet drink, then you’d be better off going somewhere else.

Unless of course you are going to visit on a Sunday night. That’s exactly what I did last time out & it was a whole other experience.

Kandallo is a bar we should have told you about a long time ago. If you don’t know, now you know. I won’t finish that sentence. Otherwise Pulse might have some explaining to do.
